Sotheby’s Institute semester programs cover 15 weeks of intensive study combining academic learning with real world experiences, allowing students a 360-degree view of the art world. Led by faculty and professionals who are experts in their field, classes are balanced by a schedule of study trips in London and abroad. Seminars and assignments help develop visual and critical abilities, while in-situ art interactions provide hands-on experience with how art is collected, curated, displayed, bought, and sold.
Our campus is located in Bedford Square, one of the best preserved Georgian Squares in London and is within walking distance of the British Museum, National Gallery, and Sotheby’s Auction House. As one of the world’s most exciting cultural capitals, London is brimming with art galleries, museums, and art fairs, our students take full advantage of all the city offers.
We welcome students from across the globe to our programs in the Spring and Fall, from undergraduate students pursuing a study abroad opportunity to career professionals looking to broaden or deepen their knowledge. The diversity of our student body generates a rich and dynamic learning environment and professional and personal networks. Designed for those who have a strong academic or professional interest in a specific subject, these intensive programs can also provide the necessary foundation for students who are applying to the Postgraduate Diploma and Master’s programs at Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
All Semester programs are validated by The University of Manchester, part of the esteemed Russell Group. Students completing one full-time Semester program are awarded 60 University of Manchester undergraduate credits.
