CENTRO
CENTRO

CENTRO is a leading institution for urban model of higher education in design, architecture, digital media and film in Mexico City. It focuses on the critical role of creativity in analyzing and resolving problems of varied complexity in diverse contexts, using a human centered and system-oriented approach. Through a specialized and personalized educational model, CENTRO forms creative experts with a socially conscious, sustainable, and entrepreneurial perspective.   

Sotheby’s Institute of Art-New York collaborates with CENTRO on its MA in Contemporary Art, Markets, and Management (Maestría en Contemporáneo ArteMercados y Negocios). The program is the first and only degree of its kind in Latin America to combine faculty from CENTRO and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, the global leader in the study of art business. Drawing on faculty, curriculum and professional networks from both CENTRO and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, students learn how business fundamentals such as finance, strategy, and marketing apply to the evolving art and design industries in Mexico City and beyond. Field study trips to New York City and Los Angeles will provide students with an international context for art markets and management in two of the world’s most important artistic centers.

Sotheby’s Institute of Art partners with Ewha University by providing students advanced placement into a wide range of courses offered through Sotheby’s Summer Institute in both New York and London and in Sotheby’s Online program.

Sotheby’s Institute of Art partnership with Georgetown’s MA in Art and Museum Studies permits students to spend the spring semester studying at their choice of Sotheby’s Institute campus in London or New York.

Tsinghua University
Tsinghua University

Tsinghua University is a 100-year-old research university in Beijing that is regarded as the top higher learning institution in China. Tsinghua University has developed at a breathtaking pace into a comprehensive research university. At present, the university has 14 schools and 56 departments with faculties in science, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, history, philosophy, economics, management, education, and art.  

Sotheby’s Institute of Art-New York offers a collaborative MA in Art Business with Tsinghua University’s Academy of Arts & Design (AAD) and the School of Economics and Management (SEM).  With global programming across two semesters in Beijing and two semesters in New York and culminating in a final capstone project, students who successfully complete the program will hold a Sotheby’s Institute of Art-New York MA in Art Business degree with official recognition from the Ministry of Education of China. The capstone project can be completed in New York, Beijing, or off-campus under the direction of a faculty advisor. Students may enroll in an additional optional semester at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York or London. 

Over the course of their studies, students take courses across three fundamental areas: markets (the context for art business), management (the organizations of art business), and connoisseurship and collecting (the objects of art business).These areas encompass art law, marketing and strategy, finance and accounting, and specialized courses include emerging art markets, valuation, collection management and curating.

Selected students from Audencia Business School are able to attend Sotheby’s Institute of Art and Business Semester Course in London.
