Clarissa Vallat is a a guest speaker for various Art and Law courses at Sotheby’s Institute in London.
Formerly a solicitor in the private client department of a London law firm, Clarissa Vallat joined Sotheby’s Tax and Heritage Department in 2012. Clarissa’s work for clients ranges from issues surrounding the export of works of cultural significance, private treaty sales to UK institutions, heritage exemptions, and valuations for tax purposes, to the negotiation of leases of personal possessions. She speaks on heritage and taxation issues at a variety of external events.
Before going on to qualify as a solicitor, Clarissa graduated in French and Spanish from Oxford University and has also worked in law firms in France and Spain.
