Dr. Alison Green gave the first of the 1718 MA in Contemporary Art research seminars on 8th November 2017: "When Artists Curate." It was the first talk in which Dr Green has discussed her forthcoming book When Artists Curate: Contemporary Art and the Exhibition as Medium (to be published by Reaktion Books in May 2018).
Dr. Alison Green, a scholar, critic and curator, is affiliated to Central St Martins where she is Course Leader for the MA in Culture, Criticism, and Curation and senior lecturer on the BA degree with the same title. She is also a PhD supervisor. At Central St Martins, Green teaches the history of art and photography, modernism, critical theory, theories of history, and the history and practices of curating and art criticism. She has published on, among other themes: painting, conceptual art, criticism including that of Michael Fried, Carolee Schneeman, Lorna Simpson, and photography.
