This four-part course introduces students to the key concepts and the important developments produced at the interval of the art market, finance, and investment.

Led by Dr Iain Robertson, Head of Art Business Studies at Sotheby's Institute of Art, and Anders Petterson, Founder and Managing Director of ArtTactic, this online course will examine market forecasts and auction trends, and the types of data sources and tools available for its analysis and growth.

Designed for collectors, investors, and advisors, as well as those seeking a better understanding of art as an investment, this short format course will primarily consider the use and performance of art as a financial asset, along with the risks and opportunities investment affords.

This Intensive Course consists of live-streamed lectures and discussions. Recordings of the live sessions are accessible anytime during the course via our online learning platform, Canvas.

Students will learn:

  • To gain an understanding of how fine art maintains its value over time.
