Sotheby’s Summer Institute for pre-college students invites high schoolers who are curious and passionate about art to immerse themselves in one of the most vibrant art capitals in the world: New York City. This summer, students can explore different facets of New York’s art scene from the business of art to the contemporary art world in two-week courses taught by leading scholars and professionals in the field. Each course draws on the expertise and unrivaled access of Sotheby's Institute and takes students behind the scenes of world class museums, galleries, auction houses, artists’ studios, and more.Ready to start your application?
Summer Institute courses are organized by Intensives and Explorations. Intensives dive deep into a specific subject area, while Explorations are interdisciplinary and cover three distinct subjects. Both Intensives and Explorations are taught by Sotheby's Institute faculty and expert practitioners in the art world.

Four two-week terms spanning from June to August; students may enroll in more than one term.
Residence hall facilities in the heart of New York City.
The program is open to rising high school students (grades 9-12) and graduating seniors.
