Event InformationFRIDAY, 23 NOVEMBER 2018 FROM 14:00PM TO 17:00PM
Sotheby's Institute of Art - LONDON, 30 BEDFORD SQUARE, WC1
Experience what it is like to be a student in our MA in Modern and Contemporary Asian Art through an interactive session with Dr Katie Hill, Programme Director and Senior Lecturer of Contemporary Asian Art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art London campus.
Join Dr Hill for a lecture to be delivered at the Institute, followed by a visit to either a gallery or museum exhibition with a focus on Asian Art. Get a taste of what you will learn during the MA programme, develop skills of observation and description and explore how themes are connected with artistic contexts, art business or the networks in which art is created, bought, collected and exhibited.
Dr Hill holds a degree in Chinese from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD in art history from the University of Sussex. She has extensive experience in the field of contemporary Asian art and is a regularly invited speaker for exhibitions and events in numerous institutions and galleries. Her recent work includes 'In Conversation' with Ai Weiwei, Tate Modern; selector panel/author, Art of Change, New Directions from China, Hayward Gallery, London and specialist advisor/author for The Chinese Art Book (Phaidon, 2013). She is director of OCCA, Office of Contemporary Chinese Art, and works as art consultant promoting Chinese artists in the UK.
