WHERE: SOTHEBY'S INSTITUTE OF ART | 570 LEXINGTON AVE, NEW YORK, NY 10022
Presenters: Morgan Falconer, Faculty, MA Contemporary Art, Online Courses & Summer Study, Sotheby’s Institute of Art-New York with Guest: Randy Kennedy, Director of Special Projects, Hauser & Wirth
Randy Kennedy was recently appointed as Director of Special Projects at Hauser and Wirth, where he is responsible for several new editorial, writing, and documentary initiatives for web and print, including relaunching the gallery’s magazine ‘Volume’. Prior to this, he was a respected reporter and arts writer at the New York Times for over 20 years. We’ll be talking about what led him to make this move, and what his move says about commercial galleries’ increasingly ambitious publishing platforms. What does this say about the state of newspapers and traditional publishing houses? And where will the great new art books of the future come from?
This event is only open to Sotheby’s Institute students, faculty, alumni, and staff. If you are interested in applying to our MA program and would like to attend this event, please contact admissions: firstname.lastname@example.org
