Arts and Culture Conversations in Downtown LA

Curators today are involved in much more than the organization of exhibitions. Much of the professional art world now revolves around performances, events, and other kinds of multi-media, multi-venue, and multi-audience productions. This panel brings together two of the most well-known and well-regarded LA-based ‘curator/producers’ to discuss how their roles have evolved to meet the demands of an ever more experience-based art economy.

  • Bettina Korek Executive Director, Frieze Los Angeles
  • Anne Ellegood Senior Curator, The Hammer Museum

This event is part of the Sotheby’s Institute of Art’s Creative Industries Colloquium, presented in partnership with Claremont Graduate University. This conversation series brings you the voices that matter to arts and culture in LA today. For seven Thursdays, cultural luminaries and leaders will join us in downtown LA to address the challenges and opportunities facing their organizations and fields.

Join us and learn more about Sotheby’s Institute’s MA programs in Art Business and Arts Management and meet the people who are shaping LA’s cultural landscape now. Space is limited, so please RSVP.
