Overview

Art speaks a language of color, shape, setting, scale and, most importantly, ideas. At Sotheby’s Institute, we teach this language so that when we encounter new ideas and perspectives, they do not escape us.

Designed for teens with a strong interest in visual art, art history, art business, design and luxury, our Pre-College Summer Program invites students to spend two weeks immersed in the world’s most vibrant arts and culture capital: New York City.

Our program allows students to explore different facets of the New York art scene from commercial galleries and world class museums and cultural institutions to street art, performance art, public art installations, and more. Along the way, students will meet and learn from artists, curators, gallery owners and auctioneers and emerge with an understanding of art objects, art concepts, and how the art world works from the inside out.
