Overview

This course is intended for individuals who wish to develop their English language skills with a view to studying art and/or working in the art world. Morning sessions comprise dedicated English language teaching sessions by qualified instructors, which use art-related material to develop students’ confidence in the four language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The course provides a great opportunity for students to learn art-related vocabulary and structure through excellent resources and to practice the language in context. Afternoon sessions combine lectures on specific areas of art, art history and the art world with visits to art venues such as museums, galleries, historic houses and collections. For entry applicants are required to have English language skills at a level no lower than IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
