From William the Conqueror and Henry VIII to Elizabeth I and Victoria, the history of English royalty is the history of London itself. From the Tower of London to Westminster Abbey, and from the Banqueting House at Whitehall to Buckingham Palace, successive kings, queens, and princes have transformed the way the city looks and feels. This summer, join leading experts as they immerse participants in the stories of some of the most iconic landmarks and collections in the world. Classroom-based lectures are complemented by walking tours and guided visits.

This course includes:

    Dr Barbara Lasic has published on the subject of French decorative arts, the history of taste and the history of collecting, and museum architecture. Her research interests include the production and consumption of French decorative arts, 1650-1900, the private and institutional collecting and display of French art, and the intersection of the art market and curatorial practice in the early twentieth century. Prior to her academic career, Lasic worked at the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of the curatorial team involved in the redevelopment of the Europe: 1600-1800 galleries, and she held curatorial positions at the Wellcome Trust and the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich.
