London boasts some of the finest collections of the fine and decorative arts in the world. For centuries, patrons and tastemakers have acquired priceless paintings, furniture and objects as a means to enhance the reputation of London itself as a pre-eminent capital of learning, culture and taste. From the antiquities at the British Museum to the Old Masters at the National Gallery, and from the treasures of the Royal Collection to the Victorian and Modern masterpieces at the Tate Britain, this course combines classroom-based lectures with guided visits to the city’s most important museums and galleries.

This course includes:

  • Expert lectures with time for questions and discussion
  • Learning in the Institute's historic Georgian townhouse campus at the heart of Bloomsbury
