Overview

The evolution of the role of curator has been both celebrated and highly contested, especially in the last twenty years. This course provides participants with a strong understanding of historical and current curatorial practices through the analysis of different exhibitions and display platforms, looking at the museum model in comparison with independent galleries as well as the relationship between the artist and curator. Participants are equipped with a sound introduction to different aspects of the profession. The course is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in this particular field and those interested in curating their own exhibition.
