Yasmin Railton is Unit Leader for the MA Shared Core Curriculum and Faculty on the Art Business Masters programme at Sotheby's Institute of Art, London. She holds a BA in Art History, MA in Art Business, and a PhD in Contemporary Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London. She specialises in contemporary art and its market, with a focus on the conservation, new media, and critical theory. Bridging art business, history of art, object-based studies, and conservation, her interdisciplinary research focuses on the impact of ephemerality on the value of contemporary art within the art market and public museums. Yasmin Railton has over ten years' experience working in blue chip Post-war & Contemporary galleries and auction houses as a Research Specialist. She continues to consult and lectures extensively internationally to both academic and collector groups.
