Summer Study:
Decorative Arts & Design: Baroque to Post-war Modernism

Beginning in the late seventeenth century, with the rise of Baroque, and culminating in the Post-War Modernist movement, this varied and exciting course promotes a comprehensive understanding of key stylistic trends in design and the decorative arts.

A diverse programme of lectures and handling sessions is complemented by behind-the-scenes visits to important sales at Sotheby’s auction house, as well as tours of leading London museums, art galleries and stately homes.

Academic Credits
The Summer Study courses can be accredited through your university based on prior approval. For students at postgraduate level wishing to apply, tutors will allocate additional projects and grade on a higher level

Accommodation
Sotheby’s Institute of Art reserves a certain number of rooms near the Institute for the duration of the Summer Study courses. There will be several options depending on student needs. Updated costs and details will be available soon.
