Day Course: Modernism: An Introduction |

Dates: Monday 23 - Thursday 26 August, 2010: 10.00am - 6.00pm Lecturer: Tony Godfrey What do we mean by the word “Modernism”? Our art, architecture and design are still dominated by concepts and ways of working either associated with “Modernism” or developed in opposition to it. This short course looks at the birth of modernism especially in painting but also looking at parallel developments in Architecture, film, photography and design. The key ideas behind modernism will also be discussed in seminars. The sequence of lectures is broadly chronological.
