Art Business, Singapore |
||||||
|
The art and antiques market is a $30 billion-plus industry. It employs hundreds of thousands of professionals in small and medium-sized businesses and large enterprises. Investment in art has also entered mainstream financial markets as an alternative investment strategy. The Singapore Art Business programme prepares students for careers in the commercial art world. It is designed for students who already have an art history degree or want to pursue a career in this field, and want to understand business theories and practices, as well as the technical and structural elements of the art market. It is also designed to cater for the needs of business school graduates; along with traditional business topics, specialised subjects include art law, the structure and mechanisms of the art market and art valuation. Business training includes finance, investment and insurance, business communications and organisational behaviour, ethics and the marketing of art.
