Graduate programmes All graduate programmes require the completion of a BA degree or equivalent. Click here to apply online. The usual prerequisite for study at the Institute is a bachelor's degree with a major or minor in Art History. Exceptions to the undergraduate art history requirement can be made, based upon an applicant's experience in the visual arts or the relevance of other areas of study. It is suggested that those without formal art history backgrounds discuss their qualifications with Alissa Roeder, Assistant Director of Alumni and Enrollment Services, by phone at 212-897-6647, prior to submitting an application. An application fee of US $100 is required for all programmes. Enrollment is taken on a rolling basis throughout the year. However, we encourage those interested to apply at the earliest possible date to assure sufficient time for consideration. Transcripts Applicants whose first language is not English must submit documentation of appropriate English proficiency test scores. The minimum requirements for all graduate programmes are fluent written and spoken English to TOEFL 600 (paper-based test) or 250 (computer-based test) or equivalent. InterviewsAll full-time programme applicants will be invited to schedule an interview with a member of the Institute's staff after receipt of all required application materials. Interviews will be scheduled by the Institute. Applicants will be contacted at the appropriate time to make such arrangements. The interviewer will assess the candidate's aptitude for the programme , level of English skill and commitment to study. Interviews are held in New York throughout the year.
