This course will explore key movements in Modern art starting with Picasso and the emergence of Cubism through to Andy Warhol and Pop Art.
Participants will gain an understanding of the art and artists’ intentions during the various movements and learn how to interpret paintings and sculpture in the context of the social and political climate in the 19th and 20th centuries. Participants will also visit the National Gallery for a guided tour of the Picasso: Challenging the Past exhibition.
