Summer Program in New York City offers an immersive 4-week experience for undergraduate students eager to deepen their understanding of the international luxury market. Blending expert-led classes, site visits, and hands-on learning, the program situates students at the center of one of the world’s most influential hubs for fashion, beauty, design, and lifestyle.

Participants will explore the structures and strategies that shape today’s luxury sector—examining the heritage and impact of iconic brands, the valuation of goods, and the evolving dynamics of retail from flagship boutiques and digital commerce to luxury real estate. Sessions with faculty and industry leaders highlight critical issues such as brand management, consumer behavior, and the legal and ethical dimensions of luxury.

Coursework is designed to sharpen both analytical and practical skills, culminating in the development of a draft business plan for a new or existing luxury venture. Whether you are laying the foundation for advanced study or looking to build career-ready knowledge in luxury management, this program offers unique insight into the forces driving the global luxury business.

Who Is It For?

Summer Program in New York City is open to applicants at least 18 years old by the beginning of the program and currently enrolled in, or considering enrolling in, an undergraduate university program.

Applying students are required to have a minimum 2.5 GPA or equivalent and will need to upload an unofficial copy of their most current university transcript as well as provide a short personal statement detailing their interest in the program. For non-native English speakers, a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 78 IBT is required.

The program is suitable for students studying a wide range of major subjects across, humanities, arts, and business.

International students (non-US students) may not be able to take this course for credit. However, we still welcome international students to apply if they are interested to take the course on a recreational basis. For more information, please contact our admissions team at studyabroad@sia.edu.
