NEW YORK INSTITUTE PROGRAMS

Sotheby’s Institute of Art—New York offers a variety of informative specialist programmes to the general public throughout the year.
In 2007, the inauguration of Sotheby’s Weekend will take place. It is an exclusive “behind the scenes” opportunity for both novice and experienced collectors to meet the specialists in Sotheby’s various departments, ranging from Old Masters to collectibles. It is an occasion to experience an auction from a vantage point rarely offered and to learn from the professionals how to bid, strategize, and participate in this thrilling arena.

Sotheby’s Weekend guests will enjoy front-row seating at a major international auction and then have the chance to discuss the experience at a private wine tasting and exclusive visit with the fine jewelry department specialists. The weekend offers the occasion to interact with Sotheby’s experts engaged in the staging of exciting international sales, and to experience first-hand the pleasure of participation in this thrilling pursuit.
