Summer Study in New York
Being a Curator in the 21st Century
Recent phenomena such as the emergence of the "art star," the proliferation of biennials, and the growing significance of interactive events have dramatically changed the role of the curator in recent years. This course provides an overview of these issues by examining today’s most influential curators and seminal exhibitions of contemporary art from around the world, and analyzing how the ‘business’ of curating has evolved over the last two decades.
