Marketing and the Commercial Art World
Examine current marketing practices in the commercial art world, including the growing field of arts sponsorship, and the various ways in which companies and major brands engage with the visual arts. This course surveys approaches that visual arts businesses use to communicate their activities, focusing on the two core commercial entities of the art world: galleries and auction houses. Students receive a comprehensive overview of the full range of marketing techniques, from audience research and media relations to advertising, branding and emerging online tools.

ArtworldSalon, an online publication devoted to art-world affairs, and is a frequent presenter at Art Basel and other major art events.
