Interior Design

A unique opportunity to combine a Master's Degree with a Certificate in Interior Design

This two-year program enables student to complete both a Master’s degree from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and a Certificate in Basic Interior Design at the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID), in two years. The MA may be taken, with advisement, in most of the six fields of study offered at Sotheby’s Institute’s campuses in New York and London. Coursework is completed in the first year; in the second year intensive studio training in Interior Design culminates in a final Master’s Project undertaken with the guidance of faculty from both institutions. The project draws upon the studio and design techniques gained at NYSID and is grounded in the historical/ critical/art business content of the first two semesters of study.

The Interior Design course may be taken on a part- or full-time basis: a summer semester may enable students to complete the program more quickly. MA students in London transfer to the New York campus for the second year to complete the program and earn a US-accredited degree.
