New York

Located in the centre of Manhattan students at the Institute have easy access to New York's rich cultural and historical resources as well as to many of the world's leading galleries and museums. Through Sotheby's auction house, we provide students with privileged access to pre-sale viewings, seminars with experts and handling sessions in which art objects are examined in detail. In addition, students visit the many commercial galleries, artists' studios, and museums that have made New York the centre of the international art world and such a unique and vibrant place to study art.

Programmes Of Study

In New York we offer three Master's Degree programmes, in Art Business, Contemporary Art and American Fine and Decorative Art.

A two-semester Graduate Certificate is also available to students who complete the required coursework for the MA but who do not wish to write a Master's Degree Thesis.

A range of Summer Study Courses and Professional Studies and Public Programs are also offered.

Applications may be sent to admissions throughout the year before the course start date. Applications are being accepted for entry in early September, 2011 and scholarships and financial assistance are available.

City Facts

New York is the undisputed centre of the art community in the United States, with easy access to the historical and cultural resources that represent the development of art in the US. Here, the fervor and excitement of the art world are a daily encounter: in cutting-edge galleries or in leading museums, in private collections or behind the scenes at Sotheby's.

New York is one of the liveliest and most vibrant cities in the world. It also reigns as a quintessential capital of entertainment and the arts, where it's a given that, "if you can't find it here, you can't find it anywhere." Whether it's an artistic affair, a culinary, musical or dance extravaganza, or a world-class sports spectacular, New York offers this and much more. Students will find much to enjoy and complement their course studies through New York's extensive range of cultural events and art museums and galleries.
